Pandemic of 2020 / America in Crisis

World Health Organization WHO was informed  on 31 December, 2019 that “a pneumonia of unknown cause” had been detected in Wuhan, the largest city in Hubei province in central China. On 30 January declared the new disease a public health emergency of international concern: the agency’s highest ranking of risk assessment.   On March 11 WHO upgraded the status of outbreak from epidemic to pandemic.

COVID-19 is the name of the disease caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus. COVID-19 is an acronym that stands for coronavirus disease of 2019. 

On May 25, Minneapolis police officers arrested George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, after a deli employee called 911, accusing him of buying cigarettes with a counterfeit $20 bill. Seventeen minutes after the first squad car arrived at the scene, Mr. Floyd was unconscious and pinned beneath three police officers, showing no signs of life.

Protests after video taken by buystanders surfesed od socal platform on May 26, 2020 started in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul in Minesota. Additional protests developed in over 140 cities throughout all 50 American states and internationally. Some of the demonstrations have turned violent, with looting and seting fiers prompting the activation of the National Guard in at least 21 states on May 30, 2020..
